I am a Professional Mariner, being U.S.C.G. licensed as both a Master and Engineer with 20 years in the marine industry. I am a presently self employed marine services contractor and have been a business owner with experience and training in the management of others. I am seeking an employer that will utilize my diverse experiences, leadership abilities, tendencies toward initiative, “No Bull / Can Do” attitude and my goal of moving into a supervisory or management position.

of a 185’ offshore supply vessel.
2004 - 2005 Enterprise Diesel Field Service Rep – Powerhouse Diesel, CA
Performing the overhaul of both main propulsion engines for the
Alaska Marine Ferry “M/V Columbia” while located in Portland, OR.
2004 Chief Engineer – I.S.M.A.S., Tampa, Fl
Responsible for the engineering issues of a 130’, 7500 hp tug that
was fitted with a Blood worth system for pushing in “the notch” of a
487’, 20,000 ton capacity molten Sulphur barge that plied the Gulf
of Mexico form Tampa , Fl to Mexico and Venezuela.
2002-2004 Chief Engineer – Seacor Marine, Morgan City, LA
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a 287’ Anchor
Handling OSV. It is a 14000hp twin screw vessel with 2 bow and 1
stern thrusters, also fitted is a Smatco combination traction winch
which is capable of 1,000,000 lbs max pull. My crew consists of 5
members 2 of which are licensed engineers.
2000-2002 Chief Engineer- Bean Dredging LLC, New Orleans, LA
Management of the technical and engineering issues of various
mix of dredging equipment. Directing and training the subordinates
assigned to my equipment. Writing reports, ordering parts, determining work lists and managing shipyard work.

Providing technical, maintenance and repair assistance worldwide to both the marine and industrial customers which utilize Enterprise Diesel engines as main propulsion or for power generation.
2000 Crewboat Captain – Comar, Amelia, LA
Responsible for the management and safe operation of a 105’, quad screw and triple screw, crewboats operating in the near coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico
1998-2000 Staff Surveyor- Sabine Surveyors Inc., New Orleans, LA.
Hull and Machinery Surveyor responsible for the survey
of vessels or barges for condition surveys, on / off hire
fuel surveys and damage surveys to include the
determination, report writing and management of repairs.
1996-1998 Chief Engineer- American Commercial Barge Lines
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of an 8000 HP
towboat. The vessels that I was assigned to were fitted with either
EMD or Alco Diesels for main propulsion and Detroit or Cat diesels
for power generation. I also maintained the propulsion gear and
all other mechanical / electrical systems on the vessels.
1991-1995 Owner/Manager- Nutbuster's Engine Works, Saipan,CNMI
Responsible in all areas of the running of a mechanical repair
facility to include marketing, selling, sourcing, customer /
employee relations, technical knowledge, contracting, etc.
My shop repaired and maintained marine, industrial and fleet
equipment and I employed anywhere from three to six technicians,
depending on work load. I worked on a diverse collection of diesel
engines such as Detroit Diesel, Volvo Penta, Caterpillar, Cummins,
Yanmar, Isuzu, Westerbeke, Perkins, Mercruiser and also became
familiar with marine propulsion components such as Twin Disc,
Borg Warner, Faulk, Mercruiser and Volvo Penta outdrives. I
performed re-powers, restorations and Industrial auxilliary power
installations.

I am computer literate, being user familiar with microsoft word and excel. I have my own fully equipped home office. I am an extensive user of most shop and hand tools, can use a variety of technical measuring tools micrometers, hydrometers, ultrasonic thickness measurement tools, lab tools, multimeter, amp meter and meggers. I can SCUBA and have done so commercially in my past. I have been to military and cilvilian leadership and management training and have managed as many as 20 subordinates. I consider myself a people person and I strive to build a cohesive and efficient team of professionals that can get the job done. I am presently studying for my USCG, 3rd Assistant Engineer Unl / Chief Engineer Limited Oceans, unlimited HP license.
