Joined Royal Navy May 1996. January 1997 Passed out HMS Sultan Engineering School as Marine Engineer Mechanic (MEM)2nd class. Join HMS Illustrious Aircraft carrier Jan 97-Sept 99 working diesels, propulsion, electrical part of ship 6 months respectively then a year as tanky on logistics, leaving as a MEM 1st class. Work Royal Navy Sailing Centre Portsmouth Sept 99-Apr 00 as outboard maintainer. Join HMS Nottingham Type 42 Destroyer Apr 00-Jan 03 working diesels 12 months, propulsion 8 months and logistics 12 months. Join RFA Fort Victoria Fueling Ship Jan 03-Nov 03 working as part of the ships protection team as a gunner and armed protection force during Operation Telic in the North Arabian Gulf. Join HMS Quorn Mine Hunter/Sweeper Nov 03-Sept 04 as senior MEM working all auxiliary machinery spaces including steering gear, hydraulics and desalination plant. Join HMS Ledbury Mine Hunter/Sweeper Sept 04-Jan 05 as senior MEM Working all axillary spaces. Join HMS Sultan Engineering School Jan 05-Jul 05 on Leading Marine Engineer Mechanic qualifying course. Join HMS Excellent Jul 05-Aug 05 on Leadership training course. Join HMS Mersey Offshore Patrol Vessel Aug 05-Jan 08 as Leading Marine Engineer Mechanic working electrical and auxiliary machinery part of ship. Apr 07 convert to Leading Engineer Technician. Join Royal Navy Sailing Centre Jan 08. Due to leave Navy 20th May. All of the roles on ship included watchkeeping and firefighting/damage control responsibilities.
