Joe's Crab Shack and Chili's restaurant server throughout college career

Objective

By using the knowledge acquired in four years at Texas A&M at Galveston, I hope to make an impact on the maritime field. The industry is so vast and growing so quickly that so many opportunities await.

Experience

Since November of 2009, I have worked as a restaurant server in order to pay my bills while attending Texas A&M. I have worked at two separate Chili's restaurants and am currently employed at Joe's Crab Shack in Galveston, Texas. Throughout my experience as a server, my mindset has been permanently altered. I have gained the abilities to work with all types of people while keeping the stress of the fast-paced environment that is the restaurant industry under control. In order to stay afloat in this environment, one must focus on the customer, as well as what is accomplished behind the scenes. With all of these objectives constantly in mind, one must also not lose track of the people that come to the establishment and the reputation that has to be upheld. The daily tasks a server must deal with change constantly. One either has the ability to cope with and accomplish everything that needs to be done, or the system as a whole is hindered.
