• Worked with both the chartering and operations sections of the Dry Bulk and Tanker departments.

• Utilized various computer programs related to operating a vessel (Netpas, IMOS, Microsoft Outlook)

• Learned about operating a vessel through hands on learning with supervision from Operations Manager

• Part of a four member problem solving team

• Utilized computer programs such as Navis and Sparcs to assist outside trucking companies

• Helped rectify any issues relating to containers, misplaced containers, damaged containers and more

Panama Canal Port Authority, Panama

Winter Intern January - February 2013

• Hands on learning experience boarding vessels and conducting inspections of various sized vessels

• Acquired a comprehension of how the Panama Canal Locks operate and are maintained

• Attended classes for the safety aspect of the Canal and precautions to insure the safest work environment

• Learned how the business end of the Canal was operated (tolls, fees, pricing)

• Observed organizational aspect of the canal to see the importance of timeliness and coordination

• Experienced the culture and became familiar with the history of Panama

APM Terminals, Maersk, Port Elizabeth, NJ

Assistant Operations Manager June - September 2011

• Worked with the yard department, managing yard drivers and Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes

• Gained experience and knowledge in the port, terminal, and shipping industry

• Supervised truck lines to ensure timeliness of containers to prevent traffic

• Work with the yard department on tracking and finding containers

• Conduct observations and research of turn times to improve efficiency
