have previous experience on upper and lower mississippi, ohio, cumberland and tennessee rivers.building- breaking tow keeping vessel in accordance with coast guard specification.
Education
GED- 1.5 yers of college
Certification
valid TWIC, valid drivers liscence, CPR and first aid certified.
Skils
all that apply to river deckhand.
I am going to be blunt! I have filled out applications for a few dozen companies and keep getting the same thing "not qualified". let me explain...I failed a DOT drug test a few years back and have been finding it hard for anyone to hire me.I have successfully completed a rehab program and am well into my substance recovery. I am drug and alcohol free. I am more than qualified! I am a damn good deckhand! I guess some of the bigger companies would rather higher some kid who watched "deadliest catch" and figured they would do an internet search for "deckhand jobs", rather than hire a deckhand. anyway, excited about going back to work.
