IED/EOD Trainer/Consultant

Objective


I am herewith forwarding my CV for your attention and perusal in the hope of finding suitable employment within your organization.



I was a member of the Bomb Squad of the South African Police Service for 18 years and instructor for 5 years.



After I left the South African Police Service I did several international contracts regarding IED/EOD training for foreign Military Forces as well as Demining contracts for several demining companies.



During these contracts I was employed as Instructor, Project Manager and Supervisor and had to deal with operations, management and supervising of several teams.



I also had to liaise with international institutions like the UN, Military and Police Forces and local communities.



Additional tasks also include management of finances, logistics, personnel issues and reporting to the UN and superiors.

Training

IMAS Level: EOD Level 3.

• Bomb disposal course

• Employed by MAG as Technical Field Manager in Sudan.

(Present Junior Leaders Course to team leaders. Oversee mine clearance, mechanical clearance team and submit reports. Present Mine Risk Education to teams in Sudan. Acting Mine Risk Education co-ordinator for Northern Sudan (MAG).

• Employed by FSD as Demining Supervisor in Sudan.

(Supervised MCT and EOD operations and submitted reports).

• Employed by Minetech International as Project Manager in Darfur – Sudan

(Oversaw spot tasking, MRE operations and liaison with UN)

• Explosive scene investigations International.

• Instructor at bomb disposal unit of the South African Police Service.

• Presentation of explosive and bomb security lectures.

• Co-ordination of Bomb Security during the inauguration of the State President of South Africa, Commonwealth conference in Durban and the visit of the vice President of the USA.

• Draw up procedure for psychological and physical requirements for candidates for bomb disposal operators in liaison with psychologist of the South African Police Service.

• Destruction of commercial explosives for African Explosive Limited. (34 tons destroyed).

• Present a basic explosive course to the Police of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.

Technical Field Manager

Sudan

Employed as Technical Field Manager. Oversee mine clearance team and Mechanical clearance.



December 2007 – April 2008 Minetech International

Project Manager Sudan

Employed as Project Manager for demining/road verification in Darfur, Sudan. Oversee spot tasking, MRE operations and liaison with UN.



May – June 2007 FSD

Technical Supervisor - Demining Sudan

Technical supervisor for demining team in Sudan during May/June for FSD. (In charge of 10 deminers and 2 drivers). Responsible for supervising MCT and EOD no 1 and submitting reports.



Jan 2005 - Feb 2007 JP Explosive Consultants

Running own business in various fields of explosives and training. (Administration of the explosive act to mining companies, Mass destruction of “waste explosives for explosive factory) African Explosives Limited in South Africa). (Destroy +- 2,000 000 “Waste Detonators” and 1000kg Pentolite during contract).



November 2004 – June 2005 European Land Solutions

EOD, UXO Clearance Supervisor Baghdad - Iraq

Undertook survey and clearance of BAC area’s in and around Baghdad

Project manager in charge of 20 EOD operators and cleared 127 km of power line during 15 day project.
