Experience


A result oriented professional with 19 yrs of rich & extensive experience in Large Vessel’s Operation and Management, Overall Administration on board, Maintenance Operations, Safety & Compliance. Conversant in planning & executing the effective operation. Significant experience in handling and repair of defects, checking, gauging, repairs on defective parts and quality assurance. Gained significant exposure to Product-Tankers and Chemical. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving & organisational ability coupled with strong team building, communication and relationship management with teams on board. Total of NINE Yrs in management at sea (four years as Master ( 2005 to 2009 ) and 4 years as Chief Officer Handy-max bulk carriers (2001 to 2005 ) of a highly reputed company. Total of 23 months as full tonnage PILOT in a MAJOR Indian Port Trust and a upcoming port just south of Mumbai. As master mariner have enough of experience / exposure to handle any challenge similar to the profile in marine industry.

Skils


Operations Management

? Implementing company policies and ISM.

? Handling dry-docking and regulatory surveys of a cargo carrying ship and its cargo discharge handling machineries inclusive of planning, budgeting and supervising ship-shore co-ordination.

? Ensuring optimum utilisation of resources; designing alternate safety and protection systems on equipment.

? Providing Overall Command of Large Ship routine, Critical Operations including arrival and departures from Ports, Rough Weather Navigation as well as involved in Watch-keeping during Critical Situations.

? Analysing characteristics of equipment's with appropriate relevant instrumentation and managing Dry-docking and undocking of the ships & handling big refrigeration plants.



Maintenance Functions

? Scheduling and planning predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance jobs during operation cycle and major overhauling in different equipments, maintaining Quality and safety.

? Handling spares of electrical and mechanical machinery and analyzing cause for break down and recommending remedial measures to prevent recurrence.

? Conducting the all type of refit in an effective manner, preparing of defect list for all type Refit and executing Full power trails and maintaining Operations schedules, despite maintenance.

? Carrying out the all defects, including the budgeting, material planning, allocating jobs, liaison with shore workshops, for better performance and implementation.

? Study, understand and implement Equipment Makers instructions for Operations and Maintenance.

? Ensuring zero tolerance w.r.t MARPOL.



Vessel Operations

? Complete responsibility for safe navigation & techno-commercial performance of large ships.

? Preparing the vessel for PSC inspections.

? Carrying out DD of vessels including SPS of holds, steel renewal and special survey renewal of statutory certificates.

? Effective liaisons with Port, Terminal & statutory authorities for quick turn around and completion of voyages, with no Claims for Short-landings, Weather Damages or other similar causes.

? Maintaining ship operations precisely as per the Long Term Schedule, as instructed and advertised by the Logistics Team, with Bunker Fuel saving by ETA/Speed Adjustments.

Safety/ Compliance

? Achieving quality targets by installing foolproof methods, providing training to Officers and crew, developing & modifying skill sets.

? Implementing safety systems/ procedures to ensure compliance of safe and sound technical practices, procedures and processes to prevent human injury or loss life, avoid damage to environment, and property.

? Managing the running machinery and personnel onboard taking safety consideration seriously and to protect the environment from pollution.



Team Management

? Training & giving support to end users, supervising programming activities, system testing, use of software packages and applications.

? Arranging for the assessment of the trainees’ performance, timely issuance of the progress reports and complying with the shipboard management system, Company Policies and International Regulations.

? Devising routines & activities to improve Crew Morale, teamwork & motivation towards safe & efficient operations.


 


Presently working as regular PILOT in DIGHI PORT LTD, India. Have experience of Piloting all kind of vessels ( full tonnage in NEW MANGALORE PORT TRUST ) including CRUDE, PETROLEUM, LPG , CNG, CHEMICAL, ETC TANKERS, GENRAL CARGO SHIPS AND HANDYMAX BULK CARRIERS up to 250 mtrs length of 14 mtrs draft since March 2010
