Overall in charge of manning the company owned offshore survey vessels (DP & non DP).

Budegeting and managing payroll costs of offshore crew.

Identify and formulate training and development needs for seafarers.

Crew change planning, monitoring of seafarers' vacations.

Verification of crew qualifications/documentation prior to joining.

Responsible for maintaining updated vessel rotation plans and execution of agreed crewing strategies.

Monitoring available ex-crew and schedule deployment, anticipating future Company’s needs for recruitment and informing the General Manager on manpower planning and employment problems

Reviewing information on the performance of all seagoing personnel and make suggestions on their promotion, after consultation with the Department Heads

Keeping aware of manning developments including the requirements of ILO (MLC 2006), Flag Administration, Seamen’s union and representative bodies, shipowners’ unions and employment associations.

Informing the DPA and the Legal Advisor of crew injuries, illness, desertions, stowaways and other P&I related claim incidents and providing them with supportive evidence and reports.

Ensuring that the performance of all Officers and ratings is to be appraised in accordance with the Company's appraisal system.

Managing a gamut of responsibilities including Fleet Personnel & management of Safety & Quality Systems.

Staff Company vessels with qualified, licensed and experienced personnel.

Monitor personnel evaluation process and administer appropriate compensation adjustments.

Coordinate fleet personnel payroll/administrative records and compensation strategies and processes.

Maintain contacts within industry peer group, including competitors, maritime academies, military outplacement services and human resource agencies for vessel personnel prospects.

Maintain contact with the officers/ratings / supernumerary lined up to join assigned vessel

Process each joiner for joining the vessels, as per laid down procedures.

Process documentation for relevant flag state, proof of application. Maintain log of all payments for the flag state.

Responsible for all recovery notes for any advance, flag license etc. All extra payments or deductions made to officers / ratings to be entered in the crew system – wages section as additional payment / deductions.

Communications/ reply of messages to vessel, agents, consulates, Head office & other offices. Maintain record of communications.

Attend calls from families of on board seafarers. Provide assistance to families from outstations to join the vessel, including help in documentation, visas etc.

Maintain updated crew lists on crew system, by updating s/off & s/on. Accommodation booking for outstation seafarers while attending courses.

Plan internal audits of the whole company.

Inculcate corporate behaviour amongst fellow colleagues by various methodologies.

Responsible for control of documents related to the Safety & Quality Management System.

Planning & organizing Internal Safety Quality Audit & following up for closure of non conformities.

Receiving reviews and carrying out changes to the Quality Management System Documentation.

Initiating management review meetings and report on the performance of the division’s Quality System.

Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

Coordinating with certifying (Registration) bodies and other external parties on matters relating to the company’s Quality system.

Helped in initiating the ISO 9001:2000 for the company in coordination with the technical manager & successful in getting the certification within 3-4 months of starting the process.

Successfully conducted 6 MRMs’ during the last 3 years.

Oversaw 2 surveillance audits by DNV with minimum observations and only 3 non conformities during the 2 external audits.

Creating awareness among the associates about the wastage & excess consumption of various consumables as part of reducing the expenses of the company & adopting various methods to control the wastage & excess consumption of water, paper, electricity, A/c & stationery items.
