First Mate

Objective


Being involved in the Marine Industry, Having 30 years experience and 16 years experience in command of different types and sizes of vessels. I am a competent and confident Master, involved in Towing Operations OFF Shore, Coastal, Passage and Harbor waters. I would like to further my experience. I would like the experience of working on and learn to drive Tug vessels. Working overseas has always been my objective in life.


Experience


DREDGING INTERNATIONAL Pty Ltd Australia. 2011-2013.

Master in command of Dredging Booster Pump Barge.

Responsible for;

-Ensuring the Safety Management System is fully operational.

-Ensuring compliance with the Project Health & Safety Management Plan.

-Implementation of Workplace Health & Safety policy on board.

-Ensuring vessel & crew comply with State & Commonwealth statutory requirements.

-Conducting safety workshops & safety workgroup meetings.

-Extensive Risk analysis and implementation.

-Audits & Inspections, including Environmental Inspections & Audits.

-Checking & maintain the safety & environmental regulations and compliance on board.

-Communication and cooperation between crew, vessel and project management.

-Conducting Emergency Procedure Drills.

-Training and Education of crew on board.

-Arranging, conducting and recording, pre-starts, tool boxes, work permits and bunker check lists & JSEA's.



MARNIKOL FISHERIES Pty Ltd. 2007-2011.

Master/Engineer(Dual operator) in command of various vessels (20m-28m in length).

Responsible for;

-Towing operations at sea.

-Training and induction to vessel handling at sea day & night off shore navigation.

-Managing 3-5 crew plus Dive Team of 5 at sea whilst engaged in Towing operations at sea.

-Navigation and Watch Keeping off shore, coastal, passage and harbor waters.

-VHF and UHF Radio communication.

-Maintain ships and personal administration (ships log and daily reports).

-Comply with national maritime law and regulation.

-Optimizing the production and continuity of the vessel.

-Supervision of all ships activities and coordination of crew activities.

-Consult with manager & owner regarding the vessels progress and work methods.

-Ensuring compliance with stability criteria for vessel when loading cargo.

-Overseeing crane operations for heavy lifts and ensuring the vessels stability.

-Implementation & execution Safety Management System and company policy.

-Slipping, refit and maintenance manager per vessel as required.

-Engineering, servicing of Main & Auxiliary engines (record and log services).Maintain & monitor engine room, machinery, bilge systems, freezer room, refrigeration plant, hydraulics, stability, bunkering operations, fuel transfers and crane operations.

-Conduct Emergency Procedure Drills.

-Anchor handling, laying and raising of anchors.

-Positioning pontoons setting anchor arrangements/laying anchors in correct position for floating pontoons.

-Ensure maintenance is carried out in an efficient and economical manner.

-liaising & consulting with surveyors, mechanics, electricians and trades personnel.



ACHIEVMENTS;

-Promoted within 4 months from Deckhand to Master on board Booster Pump Barge.

-Hands on experience of all levels of processes in the Dredging Industry, from base level to the most senior level.

-Major focus on Safety, instrumental in instigating new, increasing some and simplifying other safety procedures to eliminate workplace injuries, flawless record and continually excelling in safety audits.

-Highly effective communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, re-affirmed daily in the day to day cooperation with co-workers, staff and management from different back grounds and cultures in a multinational company.

-Familiar with the intrinsic challenges of working in organizationally and financially large scale projects, and successful operation in high risk and environmentally sensitive industries.

-Proven level of fitness and endurance: 35 day rosters with 12 hour shifts plus travel time.
