Objective
I would like to work on a harbour tug or supply tug as I have a chief engineer port operations ticket.I am also prepared to work as 1st engineer.
Experience
I am currently employed as 1st engineer on board a side suction dredger of less than 3000kw propulsion power. I have been employed by Dredging Services ,Transnet, for 17 years. My responsibilities include, the running of,maintenance,repair and upkeep of all propulsion marine diesel engines and main and auxillary generator engines. I am also responsible for spares and tools inventory and ordering. I also required to carry out planned maintenance on associated dredging equipment, eg(deck derricks and gantries, winches,capstans,hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Also to compile reports concerning fuel and lube oil usage for the chief engineer. My duties also include supervision of lower ranked officers and crew.
Education
I am matriculated with maths, science and biology. I attended Durban University of Technology where I acquired S1 Marine Law, S2 Naval Architecture, S2 Engineering Knowledge and S2 Motors. I also attended Thekweni Technical College where I aquired N4 level(maths,electrotechnics,engineering science and mechanotechnics).Also N5 level(power machines and mechanotechnics)

Skils
I have a sound mechanical and electrical grounding with very good technical ability. I am good at tracing faults and problem solving. I cope extremely well in pressure situations. I also possess good leadership qualities and inter-personal skills.
