Objective
I am a highly educated, self-motivated individual seeking for a full time position in the field of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) applications. I am eager to purse my career in your company with a career opportunity as a FEA Engineer to apply my knowledge and grow as an analyst.I would like to design and analyze the ship structure. My career objective is to become a structural analyst using FEA. I would like to try a career in ship building. My experience so far is with FEA tools on plastics, metals and steel. I believe that I can grow in the maritime industry and could be a potential gain for the company and me.
Experience
FEA Engineer providing support to the advance engineering applications team at Steelcase, Inc. (January 30th 2012 – present). Contract engineer position with Altair Engineering, Inc.
• Supported the design team with FEA analysis of furniture parts for predicting stresses and strains in the structure.
• Discussed ideas and contributed towards improvement of current designs.
• Correlated experimental data for yield and failure with FEA analysis.
• Communicated effectively with clients across Europe and Asia with FEA requests by prioritizing deadlines and requests.
• Managed multiple projects and FEA jobs by optimizing CPU allocation for jobs and communicating effectively with coworkers.
Graduate Research Assistant for Dr. Peter Gustafson, Western Michigan University (May 2009 – April 2011)
• Tested for software capability for optimization of composite structures using Altair suite (Radioss, Optistruct, Hyperstudy) and Abaqus.
• Optimized composite structures by tailoring fibers in composite laminate suing FEA tools and scripts (tcl/tk)
• Conducted extensive literature study and compiled finding in composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COVP).
• Presented progress reports in presentation and teleconferences to clients of the research grant.
Senior Design, Dr.William Liou, Aerodynamics Development of the Formula SAE car. (August 2008 - April 2009)
• Supported the design team by providing CAD support suing Solid Works sketches of the nose cone and side-pods of the FSAE car.
• Contributed to the FEA and CFD analysis by learning to use GAMBIT and FLUENT to analyze the chassis with the nose cone and side-pods attached to the frame.
• Tested rapid prototype models in the wind tunnel to gain experimental data to correlate with the simulation data.
