? Responsible for four (4) main areas of IBM Corporate Security for all branch field locations in the Northeast United States: 1. Physical Security 2. Emergency Planning 3. Information Protection 4. Incident Management and Reporting; responsible for all the investigations and ensuring ops are within budget

? Published author of two documents: “Site Security Review”, and “The Standards for Design & Engineering of Building and Site Security” both of which were published, distributed to all IBM locations, and were mandated for use globally. Public presentation of our services to customers.

? Interfaced frequently with government agencies and law enforcement officials at a National level; provided personal protection for the CEO on a special assignment. Responded to specific threats to personnel and property, interfacing with HR, legal, Senior Location Executives, and critical support services as needed

? Worked extensively with electronic security and surveillance systems to contain potentially dangerous situations; participated as a Team member in the design and response of these systems, review and analysis of areas of ingress and egress for the purpose of emergency preparedness

EXPERIENCE:

IBM - White Plains 10/05 – 10/06 Staff Security Analyst

Responsible for Site Security posture and programs for all IBM’s field locations in the northeast U. S. Maintained all of the contract staff, physical security, emergency planning, incident management and information protection for marketing field locations. Ensured a consistent record of compliance and accuracy under stringent corporate standards. Audit readiness is mandatory and tight controls were maintained for positive audit results. Created, developed, and implemented on-going staff security training to ensure consistent compliance with company policy and procedures. Established site employee’s security awareness through site campaigns including videos, posters, electronic mail memos and department presentations. Identified potential security issues, conducted on-going needs assessment and review of subordinate reports, activity, and electronic surveillance; developed a plan of action to correct or remediate the areas of vulnerability and non compliance with security requirements globally. Presented proposals to improve security operations to senior Corporate management; successfully obtained the funding needed to implement the new plans and procedures on a global level. Ensured the safety of all personnel, visitors, facilities, security in an open environment is done by maintaining controls to positively identify employees and securing the perimeter of the site with concentric rings of security from psychological barriers to actual building bollards and landscape techniques to deter intrusions.

Project Management includes design and installation of new gate operations control the access roads into those sites. As part of our perimeter protection plan we begin screening ALL vehicles at the gates. Perimeter cameras and intercom are used to communicate with and observe the outside of the sites. Development / upgrade of the security systems and procedures based on my security analysis of the site or location to meet constantly changing needs and demands. Adaptable and innovative problem solver, accomplished in securing funds to manage expenses.

Technology: Knowledge and extensive use of cutting edge digital security and surveillance technology. Improved quality of archiving and video analytics used to conduct investigations. Roll out plan included better organized record keeping for quick access. The cameras I selected for this are duel function, PTZ, color cameras during the day light hours and black and white after hours to work in very low light conditions. Adapted and customized the technology to IBM customers’ own programs and specifications, including bio controls for entry identification. I was selected to be the security team leader for the transition of the Lotus Corporation, into IBM. Facilitated the transition between two clashing corporate cultures while not offending or alienating the Lotus team, a substantial accomplishment.

Interpersonal, Customer Service and Communications accomplishments: Oversight and problem solving in the database operations room for continuity of services and to ensure regulatory compliance. Customers included private industry, the financial banking community, U.S. government entities and some US Defense Contract sites. The dollar value transactions that take place in that location exceed a trillion dollars per day, requiring a unique security approach to a very large target. Worked closely with IBM Marketing Team in developing review programs for the various external customer requirements that are part of their security plan. This required me to interface with audit teams and security professionals from many cross sections of business and government operations. While managing the Southbury site, I always met or exceeded customer expectations for security. Developed and maintained liaison and positive relationships with local law enforcement and government officials at sites I was responsible for.

Designated VP – IBM Research and Development Corporation: Assisted with the IBM interface with the Federal Communication Commission, by maintaining IBM's corporate radio compliance program. IBM maintains 125 radio stations for security and flight operations. Some of the licenses we maintain are national licenses that permit radio communication to support temporary situations in the U.S.
