Experience
Experienced Tanker Chief Officer, with Master License. Hard working, highly motivated and safety conscious, driven by new challenges in the ever changing marine industry.
Education
Graduated in 1991 from Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna , Bulgaria . Ever since I began my career at Sea it has always been on crude oil tankers. My last employer was the Japanese SANKO Line – from 2005 till 2014. Reluctantly had to leave them – part of their restructuring plan was selling the tanker fleet. Before that : Minerva Marine Inc. - 1999 till 2005 , Euronav – 1994 till 1999 ; NaviBulgar – 1991 till 1994 .
Certification
All STCW Certification for Oil Tankers .
Master on ships 3000 GT or more
Skils
As a Chief Officer I was responsible for the overall structural and cosmetic fabric maintenance of the ship according to the planned maintenance system, corrosion control and protection of cargo tanks; ballast tanks and void spaces; inspection and maintenance of wires, ropes, lifting equipment and PPE as well as fixed & portable gas detectors & monitors.
As a Person in Charge of oil transfer I was in charge of all cargo and ballast loading and discharging operations, Crude Oil Washing; Tank Cleaning; Decanting of free water from the slop tanks as well as controlling the ship's shear forces and bending moments within the permissible limits.
As a Safety officer I was responsible for preparing and discussing the Risk Assessments as well as issuing all relevant work permits. As a Ship Security Officer I was responsible for arranging the proper security watches on board, familiarization and training of the crew members. I was maintaining the ORB and Garbage Log Books in accordance with Marpol , also acting as a VOC Manager.
Additionally I was in charge of maintaining all relevant SMS records and certificates.
Very good level of English – both written & spoken, same goes for the Russian language. Native speaker of Bulgarian. Computer skills – very good as a result of continuous self-improvement.
