CORPORATE ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT

• Responsible for the full range of business operations for several maritime related support services company’s. Responsibilities included profit and loss (P&L), accounts management, the over-site of project estimating and management, proposal development, change order management, contracts negotiation, human resources, and employee training.

• Developed and set corporate goals and strategies for successfully achieving quarterly milestones for company growth both in revenues and expansions of various sector groups.

• Created company training programs for the unemployed and un-skilled labor force. Through research and interaction with local and state governmental officials, developed a two-year training program partially funded by federal grant dollars from the US Department of Labor.

• Instrumental in the start-up of a new company, a merger of a second, and the sell of a third.

• As a business owner and over the past seven and one-half years, the “project” profit to loss ratio equaled 30 to 1 (met our objectives on 30 projects, failed on 1, however, through my personal negotiations, was able to reduce our expected loss by 50%).

• Was appointed the youngest member for a corporate Board of Directors in 1995 – an appointed that came directly from the CEO of the company – appointment was based on years of successful achievements directing resulting in overall company growth with added government related contracts.

• Led a “fact-finding” mission overseas for government procurement materials and equipment to be used on a US Navy Vessel.

• Lobbied through the House of Representatives, Congress, and the United State Senate for various vessel procurement packages couple with Title XI funding. Met with MARAD in an effort to gain support and support funding for a new “hovercraft” fast ferry to sail the US waters.



SALES/MARKETING

• Through personal achievements for a small company growth, I generated over $80 million dollars in contract bookings since 1998 as a support contractor to the maritime industry.

• Was instrumental in working hand-in-hand with a major shipbuilder during the initial design and systems layout on two (2) AMCV cruise vessels to be built in the US. As a result of my sales and marketing efforts, my company was awarded over $12 million dollars in contracts prior to the project being shut-down.

• Led a company into major diversification from its prior core business of the past 10-years, a growth plan and strategy that offered the company the opportunities to increase its revenue by 100% in just two years time.

• Introduced the sub-contractor “turnkey” concept to numerous shipyards for the first time back in the mid 90’s. A concept that has since proved to be beneficial to both shipyards and support contractors.

DESIGN/ENGINEERING

• Was the main point-of-contact for all technical and contractual issues for a major government shipbuilding contract – a proven trait for someone determined to lead by example.

• Served on a “Research and Development” board with the US Navy to design and reduce the generated factors of inducted electrical currents into electronic signals.

• Lead electrical engineer for the redesign of the 60 & 400 Hz power distribution system on-board the US Navy Combat Mission Ships.

• Led the research and development team for installing materials with the confines of a GRP constructed marine military vessel.



PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Program Director for Government projects (US Navy LCAC & USDV (Underwater Seal Delivery Vehicle Programs) at Naval Systems Station, Panama City, FL

o Developed engineering plans, drawings and specifications for procurement of materials and labor.

o Out sourced fabrication companies interested in the manufacturing of the structural content for the USDV – received and reviewed proposals, selected and negotiated contracts, track production schedule, and verified quality of performance in accordance with specifications.

o Managed change order requests.

• Integrated with various shipyards, a subcontractor schedule that would meet and exceed the milestones of the overall project schedule. Raised concerns and questions in advance to those areas that may offer concerns to my company’s overall ability to meet certain milestones.

• Met with each supervisor on a daily bases in order to review the current schedule, look at his or her plan for the next production day and week to come.

• Help plan delivery materials to support production milestones.

• Met with our Customer on a weekly bases to review the progress and requirements as set forth by the contract.
