Experience
Coast Guard Marine Radio Operator: Served 3 years as marine radio operator for the Coast Guard where I conducted search and rescue cases via radio taking all applicable and important information pertaining to the case. I also conducted daily radio communications with mariners, and other Coast Guard assets. I have been trained by the Coast Guard and trained other members on proper radio watches.
Coast Guard Boat Crew: Trained at Station Gulfport as boat crewmember and served as one for 3 years. Most duties consisted of helmsman, helm lookout, assistant engineer, damage control, radar operator, GPS operator, chart corrections, navigator, radio operator, and rescue swimmer. I served as maritime law enforcement on boat crew. I also served as crewmember along side the Secret Service for a visit by President George W. Bush.
Unit Training and Safety Coordinator - Plan and coordinate General Mandated Training (GMT) for Unit personnel to enhance their knowledge, skills, and awareness and to meet Commandant's annual training requirement. Publish yearly training schedule and provide input to the Command and Staff on unit training needs. Properly prepare training facility; set up and secure audio/visual equipment and publish training roster for each training session; ensured data entry into Direct Access (DA) and Training Management Tool (TMT) Systems
Health Benefits Advisor - Counsel Unit personnel on enrollment and eligibility into the TRICARE Health Care System. Advise personnel on local doctors, dentist, and billing issues. Serve as the Command Liaison for all medical issues, work directly with Humana, United Concordia, and ISC New Orleans Medical.
Administrative Supervisor Assistant- Oversee the day to day operation of the Administration, and Servicing Personnel Office. Work with office personnel and provide guidance to new members. Resolve personnel conflicts within the work place. Provide input to the Department Head on personnel matters. Draft policy and procedural documents. Support and train department personnel on military pay entitlements, policy and procedures, and travel entitlements. I implemented new office paperwork management and procedure protocols to ensure organizational and administrative compliance.
