Develop, edit, and manage detailed build strategy documents for various vessel types under construction, including supply vessels DP1/DP2, product barges, and articulated tugs. Strategies dictated parts/product flow through manufacturing facilities. Strategy dictated the naming of all parts for the construction of subassemblies and assemblies. Use ShipConstructor software “build strategy” module for the creation of three-dimensional model views/pictures for use in build strategy document development. Host meetings between engineering design personnel and production personnel in order to reach compromises in vessel design/construction strategies. Analyze existing engineering processes. Meet with engineering personnel to determine AS-IS processes. Flow chart engineering processes and write procedures governing those processes. Develop and deliver presentations to communicate engineering processes to staff. Develop engineering part-naming teaching criteria. Teach structural department proper part-naming procedure. Develop booklet of standard marine design drawings demonstrating required document content for internal and external design teams. Facilitate forward-thinking companywide team meetings for development of management/engineering tools. Manage the creation of Transition Design Matrix database bridging the gap between functional vessel design and production vessel design with links to the cycle schedule. Write user manual for the Vendor Furnished Information database. Use engineering data for creation of progress metrics and flow charts.



Senior Program Planning and Control Analyst (02/2003 – 01/2006)

Assist program management office, NAVSEA and SUPSHIP Gulf Coast personnel with studies, investigations, quality audits and assessments of the production/operation systems for LPD 17 and DDG 51 Class ships. Assist in onboard production assessment and validation in the following areas: system completion, corrosion control, and E-QUAL material requirements for LPD 17 and DDG 51 Class ships. Review ECP/FMRs, ICPs, FPRs, SCNs, FIANs, waiver requests and deviation requests for QA impact for both LPD 17 and DDG 51 Class ships. Develop flowcharts for waiver/deviation processes. Check CDRL deliverable design drawings for ECP incorporation. Manage Selected Record Drawing/System Information Booklet drawing review and government approval process for DDG 51 Class ships. Develop training material for drawing review process. Ship-check vessels in order to verify/validate disruption and or daily impacts for US Navy/Supervisor of Shipbuilding, as well as make recommendations to reduce impacts. Work with Configuration Management reviewing change orders to insure that drawings comply with changes and ship-check vessel to insure that changes are incorporated onto vessel.

Develop / Document overall build plan “Build Strategy” for various commercial vessels, including international travel to S. Korea. Develop production / construction process flow diagrams integrated with outfitting items directly tied to production schedule. Develop vessel isometric drawings demonstrating the construction process. Develop outfitting matrix from vessel contract, estimate, design drawings, and specifications.
