2006 – Present: Derecktor Shipyards, Bridgeport, CT: Project Engineer in charge of the design and engineering of a 280 ft. superyacht, encompassing the mechanical, structural & electrical components of the design, engineering and documentation for the construction of the vessel.
• Coordinate the delivery of engineering deliverables from a multi-national group of design firms.
• Communicate directly with Lloyd’s of London and Cayman Islands Ship Registry concerning the requirements for the design of the yacht.
• Develop and manage the in-house schedule of deliverables.
• Manage a current staff of 10 engineers including one working out of Australia and one working from India.
• Interface directly with the customer, the Captain and the Chief Engineer on the design and construction of the yacht.
1997 - 2006: Merck & Co., Inc., Riverside, PA: Project Engineer for the Merck Cherokee Site Engineering Department
• Provided documentation to justify capital funding allocations for multi-million dollar projects.
• Direct concept development through use of Merck & Co. designers and commercial architectural/engineering firms.
• Managed, checked and approved detailed design of projects using contracted commercial architectural/engineering firms.
• Managed the construction of projects by contracted commercial construction firms or Merck & Co. union labor.
• Requested proposals for competitive bidding by providing bid documents/drawing packages for contracting design and construction firms as well as major capital equipment.
• Directed the start-up or occupancy of new systems or buildings.
• Managed capital funding for each project budget ranging from $50,000 to $4,200,000.
• Managed a total capital funding of between $6,000,000 and $12,000,000 at any one time.
• Organized and directed customer/client teams who provided input in the concept and detailed design stages of a projects.

1995 - 1997: Technology, Management & Analysis Corporation, Arlington, VA: Senior engineer for electrical, electronic, mechanical and structural design of the U. S. Navy's Coastal Minehunter (MHC) ships.
• Organized, developed, and supervised the Engineering and Technical Division consisting of 5 mechanical, electrical and electronics engineers.
• Supervised design of a counter-measures wash-down system and decontamination room for back-fit onto the ships for protection in a chemical, biological, or radiological threat environment.
• Supervised all other aspects of the design and construction of the Coastal Minehunter ships.
1992 - 1995: U.S. Atlantic Fleet Headquarters, Norfolk, Virginia: Principle Engineer for Hull, Mechanical & Electrical Systems and Research/Technology Transfer Liaison Engineer.
• Principal liaison between fleet hull, electrical, and mechanical requirements and NAVSEA, CNO, and Navy laboratories concerning the transfer of research from the laboratory to the fleet.
• Directed Atlantic Fleet Maintenance Officer's program for Engineering for Reduced Maintenance Costs including the development of the use of titanium piping, new paint systems and processes, and level sensors. Many of these concepts were incorporated into the LHA Midlife upgrade and the new LPD 17 design.
• Commended for using innovative and cost-effective methods to identify improved methods and equipment, which reduced the life-cycle maintenance costs and improved the reliability of the fleet as well as successfully bridging the gap between the technical and operational communities.
1989 - 1982: Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia: Drydocking Engineer, Diving and Salvage Engineer
• Organized and carried out all engineering details of preparations spanning the months leading up to the actual drydocking.
• Directed over 100 personnel during the drydocking evolutions ensuring correct and efficient execution.
• Drydocked and undocked over 60 naval vessels including nuclear submarines, nuclear aircraft carriers, surface ships, and a battleship without incident.
• Directed 18 civilian divers working in two shifts, seven days a week performing complex underwater repairs to vessels.
• On-Scene Commander for the salvage of the A/B-1, a Seawolf submarine test vehicle which sank at the pier. Salvage was successfully completed within three days.
1987 - 1989: U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility, Guam: Production Superintendent, Engineering Design Superintendent, Drydocking Engineer, Diving and Salvage Engineer.
• Responsible for the feasibility and accuracy of all mechanical, electrical, and structural designs produced by over 30 civilian engineers.
• Routinely managed all aspects of 30,000 - 40,000 manday projects for facilities improvement to various naval vessels including shop resource allocation, financial management, logistics, and progress status.
• Completed all projects on-time and within budget despite routinely seeing 80% - 100% growth and new work.

USS PEGASUS (PHM-1): Chief Engineer:
• Supervised 7 elite and handpicked, electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineers who maintained and operated one of the most complex vehicles commissioned by the Navy. All hydrofoil main propulsion and auxiliary equipment was controlled and monitored by a highly sophisticated PLC based electronic control system.
USS CARON (DD-970): Main Propulsion/Auxiliaries Engineer:
• Supervised 90 engineers from various disciplines who operated and maintained a complex computer controlled main propulsion and electrical generation system aboard this U.S. Navy Destroyer.
