Supervises, coordinates and participates in the operation, maintaining and repairing of main engines, generators, electrical systems & electronics, fuel systems, water systems and sanitation systems aboard vessel.
Routinely inspects engines and other equipment for service
Replacing or repairing defective parts or equipment
Perform temporary repairs to get vessel to port when problems arise
Engine room watch during specified periods to ensure all systems in proper working order
Assist captain standing watch and operating vessel
Maintaining daily engineer logs
Performs other duties as deckhand when needed
