PLAN REVIEWER 2004



Outsourced to Black and Veatch Engineering to review homeland security plans. Plan types include (but are not limited to): barge fleeting facilities, offshore platforms, terminals located onshore, passenger ferry terminals. This position involved reading and evaluating the submitted plans to ensure compliance with 33 CFR 104, 105 & 106, as applicable. Duties included conferencing with the USCG and industry representatives in order to rectify any discrepancies.



ADMIRALTY MARINE AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (AMASE), Houston, Texas

NAVAL ARCHITECT/ENGINEER 2001 - 2004



Designed modifications to offshore facilities while complying with class and USCG regulations. Responsible for serving needs of clients & platform operators while verifying that prescribed standards are met for design, construction and operational maintenance of facilities. Mechanical and structural integrity was to be confirmed prior to any project completion. This position often involved travel to remote and offshore sites at any time.



Noteworthy Project Experience

• Rig #74, Parker Drilling - 6 month reconstruction of oil rig bottom shell in order to meet ABS regulatory requirements (includes 3 months in Port Harcourt, Nigeria)

• Pride Nevada (offshore) - crane pedestal change and upgrade

• Dolphin 105 (Fouchan, LA) - tank repairs to meet with classification society requirements

Provided confirmation of regulation adherence for vessels and marine equipment. Responsible for serving the needs of clients by verifying that prescribed standards (ABS Steel Vessel Rules) are met for design, construction and operational maintenance of marine-related facilities.



Responsible for the following: enforcement and confirmation of SOLAS, MARPOL and Loadline regulations; verifying the structural and mechanical integrity of the vessel as per ABS regulations before job completion. Assets include the following:

• Experienced in the evaluation of the ships structure for seaworthiness

• Experienced in monitoring the installation of machinery for compliance with applicable regulations

• Capable of monitoring any ship repairs

• Experienced in working closely with the United States Coast Guard

• Construction of two AFRAMAX tank vessels (Hull 1177, 1178) in Ulsan, South Korea

Oversight of the fabrication of vessel’s superstructure, the testing of machinery, and sea trials (6 months in Ulsan, South Korea).

• Fabrication and installation of crane pedestals and booms on two 3600 TEU container vessels (M/V Newark Bay, M/V Oregon)
