Engine/Deck Fitter, Repairman

Objective

To be able to work on board a vessel preferably a tanker. Employment on land in our country is very difficult. I have to think about the cost involved in sending my two children to school. Should I be considered for any position relevant to my skills, I promise to work to the very best of my capabilities.

Experience

Since 1991 to present, I have been on board several types of vessels -- tankers, general cargo, container, LPGC, and passenger. Mostly, my assignment was either as an engine or deck fitter although I was once assigned as a repairman. I am knowledgeable in engine repair, fabrication of parts and developed considerable skill in whatever job is assigned to me while on board. My most recent principal is Tschudi with head office at Singapore.

Education

I took up Mechanical Engineering course in the Central Institute of Technology in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the course.

Certification

My certificates are: Welder's Approval Test Certificate EN 287/ISO 9606; Ship Security Awareness; Personal Safety and Social Responsibility; ISM Code Familiarization; Indian Cultural Awareness; General Tanker Familiarization; Basic Safety Training and Instruction; Shore-based Fire Fighting; Deck Watch-keeper; Inert Gas System and Crude Oil Washing; Structural Welding and Machine Tools Technology. Copies of these maybe furnished when needed.

Skils

Welding; lathe machine operator; engine repair; threading; fabrication of metal parts.
