Objective
Shipboard electrical and electronic systems maintenance and repair is what I do. Looking for a position in a place in need of serious help. I love a challenge.
Experience
Retired US Navy (enlisted, 1979-1997. Retired under the drawdown program) specializing in electrical, electronic, and electrical-mechanical systems maintenance and repair. After USN, employed by Booz-Allen/VSE to teach and train personnel in the Egyptian Navy on FMS ships between March '98 and January '08. Owned and operated a dive center in Alexandria, Egypt (Master Divers International) from March 2006 until December 2008.
Education
High School with some college (Math and Anthopology related subjects). Military schools: Gyrocompass maintenance and repair, Special Frequency Converters, Boiler water/feedwater schools (Old school navy stuff), Aviation electrical systems maintenance and repair, Search and Rescue Swimmer (SAR), Intercoastal Navigation Training (Dead Reckoning), and synchro-servo control systems. Additional education: Decompression Diver (Recreational), and certified Gas Blender for breathable dive gases. PADI certified Divemaster.
Certification
My certifications are all US Navy based. I have no official certifications for Merchant Fleet service.
Skils
Anything electrical/electronic onboard a ship. If you have prints, drawings, tech. manuals, I can figure out the problem out. Repair parts required are somebody else's problem. If I have the parts, I can fix it.
47 years of age, in good health, physically fit. Am a self-starter when it comes to seeing and resolving a problem. Team player and team builder.
