Objective
To obtain a job on a ship working with cycloconverters.
Experience
I have worked for two different companies, one of which I was an intern, the other full time for 5 years to present. We have two ABB cycloconverters running two 10000HP motors for milling ore. We roast that ore at 1200+ degrees F. This requires alot of instrumentation. To run this type of roasting process, it produces a lot of hazardous gasses, for which we have the "off gas" process. This also requires a lot of instrumention. Our system is a dry system, so he have multiple 5kv fans. Our 5kv switchgear is Powell, our 480v mcc's are allen bradley. Our CCV's and DCS system are ABB.
Education
I have an Associates of Applied Science degree in electrical systems technology-2007
I have a certificate of instrumentation-2008
Both are credited from Great Basin College, Elko NV
Certification
Level 1 Toshiba Drives
Level 1 Allen Bradley PLC's
Level 1 Thermography
Associates Degree in Electrical Systems
Certified in instrumentation
In college we worked mainly with GE Fanuc but at work I've been 90% Allen Bradley Rockwell Automation.
Skils
I cover multiple different things at work. Some specialties for me are motor controls, PLC controls, and instrumentation. I install, maintain, and troubleshoot these systems often.
Right now we are upgrading a CycloConverter, working with the 2nd party on changing circuit diagrams and upgraded equipment.
I'm 25 years old, and I'm good at my job. I enjoy doing what I do, and I take pride in my work. I don't mind being corrected if wrong, I believe we are all here to learn. In this field, being its so progressive and constantly changing, we are always on a learning curve. I'm willing to travel, but unfortunately I cannot permeanently relocate at this time.
