I have worked in offshore management on a number of field development projects in both the oil industry, salvage and alternative energy. I was working recently on three projects in Brazil Roncador Hybid for Petrobras and BC 10 with Shell. prior start of BC 10 in September, I took a short term post as Marine Rep on a DP FPSO for a 34 days, setting up FPSO on mooring system and crew training in DP.
I am experience in Marine construction projects in all phases of field development whilst working with Maersk Oil Qatar a leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. Maersk Oil Qatar is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen Field and presently engaged in a large project with capital investments above 6 billion USD comprising drilling of 160+ wells. Current oil production of approx. 300,000 barrels/day is expected to reach a plateau level of 525,000 barrels/day by end of 2009.
I have been involved with this campaign since June 2006 with this development from drilling bore hole for jackets, moving on to DP seismic OBC and onto installation of jackets and pipe-laying.
My responsibilities as Marine Rep extend to approval of vessels and barges under MOQ section J audit, back up auditing of units, my main role been marine safety and preserving the field and pipeline integrity from marine incidents when position units on anchor spreads and moving pipe-lay barges on anchors.
I have very recent command experience on well stimulation vessel and DP drill-ship and have been master on a DP dive vessel on Horns Rev Wind Farm.
I have Marine Rep experience on pipe lay barges, construction vessels, heavy lift ships, FSO, FPSO,
DP Dive vessel, DP Seismic OBC vessels, running a four vessel spread. On the drilling side I have been Marine supervisor on a TLP for Exxon and have conducted rig moves as tow mate on semi subs.
I have conducting accident and incident investigation on DP vessels and recommended courses of action to prevent marine incidents.
In 2000 I was Marine Rep on the Erica project for Technip, which recovered 11,OOOm3 of oil from the Erika in the Bay of Biscay, thus have been involved in very high profile positions on complicated projects
Major Projects
01.2008 10.2008 Roncador,
Warranty surveyor on Roncador Flexi Lay project and have been on Hybrid Capupurin projects in Brazil.
Will move to Shell BC 10 in September
06.2006 - 06.2007 Al Shaheen Field Expansion, Maersk Oil Qatar
I have worked in offshore management position on a number of field development projects I’m
experienced in Marine construction projects in Qatar for MOQ. I worked on these projects for many years
as an Offshore Marine rep from 2002-2007
Maersk Oil Qatar is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen Field and presently engaged in a large project with capital investments above 6 billion USD comprising drilling of 160+ wells. Current oil production of approx. 300,000 barrels/day is expected to reach a plateau level of 525,000 barrels/day by end of 2009. 01.2001 - 09.2001 Erika Oil Recovery, Coflexip Stolt Joint Venture
During 2000 Jan to September I was the Marine Offshore Rep In July 2000, after four weeks of operations, main pumping of the Erika wreckage had enabled recovery of 90% of the cargo lying at a depth of 120 meters. An additional five weeks were then necessary to recover the remaining 10%, which was divided between the two sections of the wrecked tanker, through the use of finish-pumping techniques. The total amount of fuel oil pumped out was 11,245 metric tons.
A combination of. very careful preparation, innovative pumping techniques mixing the fuel oil with a plant-based solvent, and massive mobilization enabled these operations to be completed without an accident nearly four weeks ahead of schedule, I was based on the the ROV inspection Diving Vessels FPSO and later the tañker Melide which discharged mineral oil in Le Harve and the pumped the plant base solvent out in Rouen.
