Objective
To obtain employment in a shipbuilding/repair company(preferably in the Middle East)in a Development/Project Manager Role.
Experience
I am a mechanical engineer (Australian Citizen) with land-based marine engineering qualificationss and experience involving shipbuilding/repair project management, naval architecture and quality assurance.
I have worked in dockyards in Colombo, Sri Lanka and in Newcastle, Australia as Project Engineer and Works Manager and have managed shipyard expansion projects as well as ship design/construction aspects. I have managed a DKr 36 million shipyard development project at Colombo Dockyard Ltd Sri Lanka which involved setting up a new shipbuilding facility for 3000 DWT vessels, improvements to drydocks and new repair workshops, which was a great success.
In Australia I have managed ship conversion/repair projects on both commercial and Naval ships, which included cost estimation, project management including liaison with Owners, Superintendents and Ship Classification Society surveyors. I also did some design work, which included preparing a preliminary design for adding a heli-deck to the Navy ship HMAS Jervoise Bay etc.
