Dock Operator/Tankerman
Running the dock for various customers as vessels are loaded and/or unloaded; Preparing the dock for safe and complete loading/unloading of vessels; Make certain than any and all federal and state required documents that must accompany a vessel are on board and in proper order; Communicating with dock personnel to ensure that each person participating in the transfer of product understands what the product is and how it should be transferred and protected; Ensure safe working conditions and orderliness of the dock; Follow all company safety rules and environmental regulations; Assist in safety and rescue operations in emergency situations; Understanding of essential information related to spill containment and cleanup as well as the MSDS sheets and emergency action information; Making good decisions; Being dependable, conscientious, and showing initiative; Paying attention to details; Willing to adhere to orders, rules, and regulations; Working as a team player; Being stable under pressure and withstand the stress associated with the job, including discomfort, unpredictable weather, and potentially hazardous situations; Willing to work as operations require; Working closely with the marine surveyor in agreeing to the sequence of the product transfer; Adhering to Maritime Security (USCG), Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations as well as environmental regulations during marine transfer operations.
