Dock Operator/Tankerman

Running the dock for various customers as vessels are loaded and/or unloaded; Preparing the dock for safe and complete loading/unloading of vessels; Make certain than any and all federal and state required documents that must accompany a vessel are on board and in proper order; Communicating with dock personnel to ensure that each person participating in the transfer of product understands what the product is and how it should be transferred and protected; Ensure safe working conditions and orderliness of the dock; Follow all company safety rules and environmental regulations; Assist in safety and rescue operations in emergency situations; Understanding of essential information related to spill containment and cleanup as well as the MSDS sheets and emergency action information; Making good decisions; Being dependable, conscientious, and showing initiative; Paying attention to details; Willing to adhere to orders, rules, and regulations; Working as a team player; Being stable under pressure and withstand the stress associated with the job, including discomfort, unpredictable weather, and potentially hazardous situations; Willing to work as operations require; Working closely with the marine surveyor in agreeing to the sequence of the product transfer; Adhering to Maritime Security (USCG), Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations as well as environmental regulations during marine transfer operations. Quality Control Manager

Working in Chemical Process labs Under Different Engineers; Responsible for Inspecting Tank Trucks for Cleanliness prior to Loading; Pulling samples from Loaded Trucks; Tagging and Testing Samples prior to Truck Departing Terminal; Testing and Checking API Gravity, Water Content, Density, and Refractive Index; Working and Familiar with ASTM Procedures; Preparing Documentation Appropriate to testing in Accordance with Customer Requirements and Specifications; Creating and testing of Blends as required by Customer; Working with SAP systems; Working with Various Customers, such as ExxonMobil, Shell, Ashland Chemical, Pride Solvents, and TR-Metro, at the Kinder Morgan (formerly GATX) and IMTT Terminals to Insure Product and Document Quality for Correctness and Accuracy; Working with H.P. 6890 G.C. with Auto Ink Jet and Windows NT and Excel. Working with Lab Glass (1,2,5,10,22, Ltr. Glass Flask and Parr Reactors); Working with High Temperature Vacuum Distillations; Working with Various Chemical Reactions; Working with Auto and Manual Viscometers; Daily Usage of Various Chemical Testing Equipment including: DMS 100S UV Spectrophotometer; STAR 3400 CX GC; Perkin-Elmer FT-IR Spectrometer Paragon 500; Metrohm 737 KF Coulometer; Parr DMA 48 Density Meter, and Leica Mark II ABBE Refractometer. Duties Also include Sampling and Gauging Shore Tanks and Rail Cars and Performing Appropriate Tests to Determine if Product is Safe to Discharge and Ship; Working with chemical products from companies including ExxonMobil Plasticizers, Vinyls, Hydrocarbons, Fluids, Hexane, Xylene, Nonene, Toluene, Heptane, IPA, IPA-99% USP, etc.
