At BAE SYSTEMS, Mrs. Bowman is a Designer I. Her duties include the development of engineering and design drawings in accordance with established formats and standards utilizing Computer Aided programs. She also develops graphics/illustrations for the use in Technical Manuals. She assists engineers in developing concise sketches to be used in the making of installation drawing packages for craft or vehicle alterations.

She also assists with document control, making copies of drawings and entering signature drawings into our database and distributes drawings upon request from our customers
At EG&G, Mrs. Bowman was a CAD Operator. She prepared, revised, and reviewed drawings and technical illustrations in accordance with established format requirements and technical drawing standards. She developed electrical wiring diagrams for BQS-EC-17 Technical Manual, assisted in developing graphics, both color photo and black and white line illustrations, for the MK 48 GUNBAT Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), and assisted EG&G Engineers on a ship check of the USS George Washington CVN-73 for development of an Installation Drawing Package for the AN/SPS-73 Radar System. Mrs. Bowman also provided a full-scale building layout to support the Fleet Technical Support Center Atlantic (FTSCLANT) move to building LF-18 at Norfolk Naval Air Station. Mrs. Bowman provided fast turn around (8 hours) completion of redline mark-ups in support of the Improved Point Detection System (IPDS) installation on LHD-4 USS Boxer, DDG-66 YSS Gonzales, LSD-44 USS Gunston Hall, LPD-15 USS Ponce, and DD-988 USS Thorn.
At Tracor, Mrs. Bowman was a Drafter II. She provided drafting and quality assurance services for the development and validation of engineering drawings to the Detection, Classification, and Sensors section of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment in Norfolk, VA. She utilized computer aided techniques, prepared and reviewed highly complex drawings, schematics, and isometrics in accordance with DoD-STD-100( ) and Mil-T-31000, developed TAMPALTs and A&I, SHIPALTs, and Level III fabrication drawings and reverse engineered existing Naval electronic hardware for drawing packages. Mrs. Bowman developed a complete drawing package for the Interim Digital Audio Recording System I (IDARS 1) by reverse engineering the equipment. She accompanied Tracor and government engineers during ship checks to provide concise sketches for the development of installation drawing packages.
