Deckhand or Supply Vessel

Objective


I am honest,hardworking,and dependable. What I want is to become part of your team. I'm looking for a career a lifetime job I want to retire from HornBeck. I have experience as a deckhand and a 2nd Engineer I worked for Compass Marine where I learned to connect lines and cables to barges. I also learned to read and record instrument gauge readings and maintain the vessel's engines.I'd like to apply these skills I have as well as learn everything I can about the offshore oil business.


Experience


Febuary 4,1998 I began working for Carpenter Local Union 89 in Mobile,Alabama.I worked as a scaffold carpenter for Local89 until May09,2000. My duties were to erect maintain and alter scaffolds for multiple crafts personnel. In May20,2000 I was hired by Compass Marine for the position available as a deckhand. I worked on a tugboat under Captain Clyde Spears for four months until I was laid off due to lack of work. I began as a deckhand I worked hard and I learn quickly I was promoted to 2nd Engineer in two months. I was laid off September07,2000.


Education


I graduated from Mary G. Montgomery high school in May of 1997. I then began working as a carpenter even attending a Carpenter Apprenticeship Program for three years. I also have a PEC card and have completed a 40hour HAZWOPER course through OSHA Hazmat Training.


Certification


I have a PEC card and have completed a 40hour HAZWOPER course for OSHA Hazmat Dept.


Skils


Carpentry, painting, concrete work, deckhand.
