Objective
I am looking for a Deckhand position aboard a vessel of 100GT or Greater to fulfill my sea time requirements for my 200T License, which I will sit for next year. I am looking to work hard and gain some very valuable experience.
Experience
** Summer Intern at Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center (KBSTRRC)
2010 summer
* Cared for sick and injured rescued sea turtles
* Assisted with the Sea Turtle Project Nesting Program
* Educated the public about the rescue and rehabilitation of endangered sea turtles
* Worked 8 - 16 hours, 6 days/week
* Volunteered over 500+ hours
* Conducted my own research project involving anthropogenic impacts on sea turtles
** Deckhand for Entertainment Cruises
2009 summer
* Worked 40 hours per week
* Worked on 3 separate vessels (Spirit of Boston, Spirit Elite, and they Odyssey)
* Conducted routine watches/lookouts (engine checks, line handling, docking, etc.)
* Received customer service training
* Assisted in vessel maintenance (painting/priming, grinding rust, buffing, cleaning air filters, etc.)

2008 summer
* Worked 8 hour shifts, 6 days/week (some 12-16 hour days while in port)
* Assisted with food prep and serving
* Assisted with mess deck maintenance/cleanliness
* Lived aboard the the Training Ship State of Maine for 60 days

High School Summers
* Worked from Sunday-Friday afternoons
* Worked with age groups between 8-17 years old; each group stayed one week
* Instructed campers on primitive survival skills (shelter building, fire-making, water
