Experience


Stardust 60 Ft catamaran 15th Oct 12 – 17th Nov 12 Day worker I was the sole deckhand, working 5 days a week cleaning, polishing, fixing, sailing, and learning valuable lessons in the bilge, deck and engine room. We did sea trials quite often so my sailing skills have been raised as well. She was a prototype so there where some problems with her build which I helped the captain sort out. It was a great experience and I hope to be able to further my yachting career, as I enjoy being at sea and sailing. Saint Nicolas 70M M/Y 12th March – 23rd April Day worker I polished all stainless steel capping rails and windlasses. Decalcified the windows on all decks, 2 parted the teak decks and stairs, helped out with sanding work on chocks and detailed the limousine tender removing leather seating and 2 parting the interior teak. Then replacing all seating, shampooed and conditioned the leather afterwards. For the rest I helped out when the permanent crew had any requests for an extra hand. I helped with the rope work on aft and bow during leaving and entering the port. I also did regular wash downs. Also learning the different uses of cleaning chemicals and abrasives.
