Oversight of up to 16 crewmembers in the safe operation and maintenance of a traditional wooden vessel under sail and engine power. Direct responsibility for care and maintenance of safety equipment, orientation and training of all new trainees, and ongoing training for all crewmembers. Responsible for a navigational watch to ensure the safety of all personnel and the prompt delivery of the vessel to all scheduled ports throughout the western United States.

Care and maintenance of a wooden sailing vessel, including hands-on rigging and wood-work. Worked with and directed a team of at least 15 to manually operate the vessel under sail and motor power both inshore and open-ocean. Liaised with office and crewmembers to see to the comfort and enjoyment of up to 24 overnight passengers.
