Experience
American Cruise Lines: Guilford, Connecticut- Deck Hand; 8/2009-Present.
• Doing daily maintenance aboard the vessel.
• Making sure all passenger and crew are safe at all times.
• Handling lines.
• Receiving direct orders from either the Captain or Mate, weather it be while docking, or departing a port, along with any other tasks that needed to be completed.
• Standing watch, and performing rounds.
• Steering the Cruise ship when scheduled on the watch bill.
• Being very attentive to the weather and condition while under way, and docked.
• Changing oil, oil filters, and fuel filters when needed, also keeping accurate records for when oil and etc. needs to be changed.
• Promoted to Engine Room Assistant after first 3 months with company.
Champlin’s Marina and Resort; Block Island, Rhode Island- Dock Hand; 5/2010-8/2010
• Helping guests of the Marina and Resort dock their Vessel, and getting power and water set up on the vessel.
• Making sure everyone is securely docked before disembarking the boat.
• Keeping a close watch of all activity around the Marina making sure all vessels and guests are safe.
• Working the gas dock, making sure boats come in, in an orderly fashion by directing boats where we need them dock.
• Working closely with the Dock Master, taking direct orders on where I needed to be in order to the boats docked, quickly and safe.
• Helping make ice, cleaning, doing maintenance around the marina, and checking guests in.
• Keeping a close eye on the weather, and wind changes.
