I have experience using SSB and VHF radios, chart plotters, weather faxes, and other computer programs aiding in navigation.
I am a well qualified captain with a USCG Near Coastal OUPV license actively seeking a crew position on a sailboat or motor yacht. I have spent the past year sailing down the coast of California, the Baja Peninsula of Mexico, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga and New Zealand. I am willing to work on a boat as delivery crew or as a long term employee. I am a hard worker and a fast learner. I can do basic mechanical work and feel comfortable around engines after working on boats for the past year. I have also worked in the service industry for many years and can fit easily into the crew of a boat and know how important it is to work together on a sailboat or yacht. I am well traveled and always like to travel to new and exciting places.
