Objective


acquire more seatime for my upgrade to Master 100GT Near Coastal-eventually operate my own vessel as Master.


Experience


I have worked for Kenai Fjords Tours in Seward, Ak. for the past 10 years, 6 of which I was a deckhand, and for the past 5 years the Senior/First Mate on the 95GT Glacier Explorer, seasonally. Prior to the deck job I worked in the office as the Accounts Payable/Recievable Clerk for 3 years, and started there as a Reservationist. I started with KFT in 1996.

Skils


daily duties; releasing/tying lines for departure and arrival. Fueling the vessel, cleaning, preparing meals, safety orientation for new hires, regarding emergency situations, location of fire safety equipment etc.

Weekly drills: MOB, fire on board, flooding, medical emergencies, abandon ship.

Supervision of 2 crew members, wheel watch for Captain at his/her request throughout the day.

Taking the vessel to and from the fuel dock at the captains request.

Assisted with basic engine room repairs, oil changes, filters, periodic engine room checks through out the trip.

Preparing and making notes in the log book.

General prep for 6 hr. tours with 150pax daily.
