Deckhand; Assistant Engineer, Processor; Baiter

(3 months on, 3 months off)

Responsible for the safety of a crew of 26 on a 907-ton, 180-foot, 1,125-HP fishing vessel while loading and unloading fish and fishing gear in long hours and inclement weather.

? Communicated safety regulations and procedures to crew.

? Responsible for life-raft & cargo net deployment, ammonia & fire response communications.

? Used and maintained pumps to secure safety of the vessel.

? Responded and reacted immediately and accurately to any emergency situation on-board.

? Together with crew, hauled up to 34,000 pounds of black cod, cod, or king crab each day at sea.

? Checked and maintained all engine, electrical, and ammonia system gauges to ensure safety of the vessel and its crew.

? Accumulated 764 days of sea time, which qualifies for a limited Able-Bodied Seamen’s License.

? Shifts were 16 hours on, 8 hours off, 7 days a week.

? Responsible for working in the shipyard twice each year, to maintain and repair the vessel.

Responsible for loading truck trailers with packages to be delivered nation-wide with speed and accuracy.

? Identified packages coming off the conveyer and matched their package codes with the appropriate truck.

? Strategically packed trucks to ensure maximum capacity and safety of the box contents.

Grounds Crew Leader

Responsible for maintaining the manicured yards of private and public grounds, while managing a small crew.

? Worked from a fixed schedule of property maintenance requests and completed all daily tasks, including special, often unexpected requests.

? Trained and nurtured new employees on company procedure, equipment use, and routes so they could manage crews of their own.

? Became certified in Washington State’s Chemical License for pest control, which resulted in a raise in pay and a promotion.
