MARITIME ONBOARD TRAINING CADET PERIOD

2008 MT “FURE STAR” – CHEMICAL TANKER

Cadet – Furetank Shipping

? This was my first job at sea, arranged by my university, where I learned the basics of seamanship, as well as work on deck. I was also briefly introduced to the deck officer duties.

2010 MV “ALSTERN” – DRY CARGO

Cadet – Ahlmarks Shipping

? Onboard the second ship arranged by my university for practice, I was more thoroughly enlightened of the deck officers’ duties.

2010 MV “BRO ANTON” – CHEMICAL TANKER

Cadet – Broströms Shipping

? Being my second chemical tanker, this was a very good practice for me where I could really put my previous experience as a tankerman to use.

2011 MV “TOR BEGONIA” – RORO

Cadet – DFDS Torlines

? My first Ro-Ro ship, where I found it interesting to learn the new cargo handling that differed from my previous experience.

2011 MV “VINGA” – DRY CARGO

Cadet – Vargön Shipping

? On my second dry cargo ship, I could beneficially use my experience from the first one.

2011 MV “FINNEAGLE” – ROPAX

Cadet – Finnlines Shipping

? I stayed for three months, learning all the deck duties as well as the officer’s duties. This was a very good onboard training for me and I later came back to work here as an Able Bodied Seaman
