Objective


I am a navigation officer, certified with an Associate Degree in the field of Nautical Sciences from the Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI). www.cmi.edu.jm/ I have aspirations on becoming a Captain, marine Pilot and an entrepreneur. I would love to own my own company, employing tens, hundreds of Jamaicans, advocating and boosting the socioeconomic status of my island Jamaica :).

Served as Chief Officer onboard MV Addie K, a Ro/Ro passenger vessel that specialized primarily in the transport of palletized cargo, Containers and vehicles. I had two deck hand subordinates, and a cook. As 2nd in Command to Capt. Anthony King, I was responsible for:

• Ship’s safe navigation; Did Passage Plans, both on Chart & Ecdis. Kept Navigational Bridge watched on average 4hr intervals, can be more or less, depending on the next Port of call or sea condition/weather.

• Ship’s safety and security; Organize and planned Safety Drills (Fire, Abandon ship, Search& Rescue (SAR)). Ensure ships Life Saving Appliances (LSA) & Fire Fighting Equipment are in good status and not expired.



• Safety of Crew & Passenger(s): ensure crews are informed on basic survival techniques, and that safety concerns are addressed.

• Cargo safety: Supervise Cargo operations: Ensure cargo is loaded properly onto the ship, that the ship stability is positive (GM is +ive). Double Check lashings and position of Cargo and ensure it is weather tight/ sea worthy.



The MV Addie K navigated mainly in the eastern Caribbean to islands such as: Antigua, St. Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, St. MAARTEN, British Virgin Islands (BVI) –Tortola.

I Served on CFS Palencia & CFS Palencia. MV CFS Palencia – navigated to Honduras, Belize, Haiti, Huston Texas-USA, Gulf of Mexico, Curacao, Aruba, Colombia, Barbados, Panama (Colon). MV CFS Pafilia navigated similar places as Cfs Palencia, and cruised to Dominica Republic (Caucedo), Aruba, Curacao, Venezuela (La guiria), Belize, Barbados and Trinidad
