Objective

United States Coast Guard, BoatswainsMate October 1999 – August 2006



-Served on board 378' U.S. Coast Guard Cutter for 2.5 years and as a Boatswains Mate at U.S. Coast Guard Station Vallejo for 4.5 years as an E-2 through E-4

-Conducted numerous towing evolutions, deck maintenance & painting

-Acted as boarding officer;extensive knowledge of damage control and First Aid

-Deck supervisor in charge of project management and ensured deck safety;stood watch

-Proficient in plotting standard navigation, knowledge of navigational rules of the road

-During Persian Gulf, Alaskan and Mexican patrols, acted as a boarding team member;Knowledgeable of international rules of the road.

-Instructed, supervised, & evaluated the performance of 15 personnel

-Participated in long-range planning in the areas of personnel, budget, supplies, equipment, vehicles & other administrative related areas

-Directed & provided for the overall administrative management of the day-to-day operations

-Acted as a point of contact for the public; gathered, assessed & provided prompt answers to inquiries & requests

-Supervised the work of subordinates & sets goals & objectives for accomplishing projects & establishing work standards

-Provided and instructed others in emergency first aid when necessary

-As a boat Captain, was responsible for the overall safety of the crew, the public, & Government property with a value of over $10 million dollars

-Investigated security & safety violations & wrote detailed incident reports

-Provided a wide range of technical, administrative, and clerical support to top secret government investigations

-Experienced in complex radio communications under adverse conditions while running multiple search & rescue operations, as well as using proper etiquette while speaking with the public
