Deck cadet

Objective


To get the opportunity to do a practice as deck cadet in order to obtain the license as merchant marine officer and then explore the possibility of working full time in your company as a qualified deck officer.


Experience


Watchkeeping on board the Sea Trade Islander supplier ship (Voluda Panama Group)

Seaman on board at the tug boats (authority Panama Channel).

Piloting practice on board the Atlas school vessel.

A total of 3 trips through the Panama Canal on board the vessels


Education


Columbus University (2004 -2008)

Nautical Science Engineering with specialization in marine administration ports and channels.


Certification


Attended courses at The Maritime Simulation, Research and Development Center (SIDMAR)

-RADAR -ARPA-GPS-ECDIS-AIS.

Watchkeeping course at Columbus University.

Basic Level courses in:

-Fire Fighting

-Survival at Sea

-First Aid

-Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities; at Columbus University.

Introduction to the code of Maritime Protection ISPS code course at The Maritime Simulation, Research and Development Center (SIDMAR).

Oil tanker familiarization course at IMMOP

Crowd management on passenger ship course at IMMOP


Skils


Excellent knowledge of all the basic seamanship duties and functions a deck cadet must be able to accomplish.

Disposition to team work.

Punctual, responsible and respectful.

Intermediate level of knowledge of the English language.

Good Experience working with computer programs (internet, word, excel, web)

Native Speaker of the Spanish language.
