Deck and Engine Officer of the watch

Objective


Looking for Officers onboard jobs, for both Deck and Engine.


Experience


May-July 2012: Engine officer of the Watch aboard the french navy vessel Monge(2nd largest ship of the fleet), rank: 2nd class Ensign (reservist).

August-December 2011: Safety and paper work Cadet officer aboard Le Levant, a cruise yacht of the Compagnie du Ponant.

October 2010-February 2011: junior bridge officer of the watch aboard the french anti-aircraft destroyer Forbin, rank: Midshipman (reservist). The mission consisted in escorting the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the indian ocean to support our troops in Afghanistan.

June-August 2009: Cadet officer (dual-purpose: deck and engine) aboard the Ciudad de Cadiz, a RoRo ship carrying pieces of the Airbus A380 through Europe to gather them in Bordeaux, France.

June-August 2008: Steersman aboard the french navy mine sweeping vessel Capricorne, rank: Petty officer 1st class. The mission consisted in mine-sweeping exercises in black sea and nato exercises.


Education


2007-2010: 3 years polyvalent merchant navy officer school in Le Havre, France. Obtained Deck/Engine Cadet officer Diploma in 2010.

2006-2007: Scientific preparation school (Physics and Chemistry) at Lycée Naval (French Navy High school) in Brest, France.

2003-2006: High School at Lycée Naval in Brest, France. Obtained Baccalauréat in Science (specialisation in Engineering).


Certification


Unlimited Merchant Marine Polyvalent officer certificate, which is the combined officer of the watch for deck AND engine certificates.

Deck/Engine cadet officer Diploma.

Medical training certificate (level 2)

Certificate in training in Radar and Arpa

Certificate of Radio operator of a vessel operating in the GMDSS. No restriction.

Certificate of survival craft and rescue boats handling.

Ship Security Officer certificate.


Skils


Maintenance of safety installations.

Maintenance of a navigation service.

Maintenance of engine room installations (Diesel Generators, sludge incinerator...)



My best quality would be my capacity to adapt any ship, in both merchant and military navy. I have been described by my superiors as serious, hard-working, motivated and resourceful.
