Job Responsibilities – The job primarily involves online verification and approval of the Hazardous Cargo shipments in container units transported by sea on Maersk Line container ships.
>> Approval process is the scrutiny of the hazardous cargo shipment details to achieve the compliance with the provisions of International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code formulated by International Maritime Organisation (IMO), a United Nations (UN) body.
>> Various activities involved are packaging checks, segregation checks, sending stowage requests, arranging port clearances, sending Vessel Sharing Agreement (VSA) partner requests, creating and approving VSA partner’s Hazardous Cargo bookings in Maersk Line systems etc.
>> The various Maersk Line systems used are GCSS, RKDC, RKEM, GSIS etc. Other software tools used are Business Objects, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office etc.
>> The IMDG Code - Amendment 32 and Amendment 33 published by IMO is the reference resource along with Maersk Line house rules.
