Objective
To obtain a nautical position as crew or mate aboard any of a variety of sea-going vessels such as private, recreational or commercial vessels. To utilize my interest in nautical science, surface operations, and the maritime world. Such positions will aid in my goal of 100 ton masters license (inland and near-coast through unlimited).

• As a member of the CGA, I support the United States Coast Guard by promoting boating safety, as well as training and educating myself in the field. I am BCQ (crew-qualified), thus participating in patrols and perimeter support to law-enforcement and military activities on the Potomac and adjacent rivers, as well as rendering private boat-owner assistance (as conditions permit).

• Crew member aboard private charter vessels providing high-quality service (catering, entertainment, total quality management). Duties also included customer service and safety and usual deck hand responsibilities.

• Assist passengers with (a) inquiries, (b) concession sales, (c) boarding. Responsible for passenger safety, vessel preparation and post-cruise maintenance, line-handling, minor mechanical and engine maintenance.
Spirit Cruises 5/2006 - 9/2007
Washington, DC
• As a Senior Deckhand, I was responsible for customer safety and service, knowledge of fire suppression and emergency systems as well basic mechanical maintenance. Vessels included two 155 ft long, 3-deck, cruise ships on the Potomac River, offering sightseeing tours, lunches, dinners, private charters and events, with full entertainment.
