I am an experienced commercial manager/analyst offering a broad portfolio of skills, and have recently ended a project concerning commercialisation of an emerging innovative high-speed marine transport technology (Wing in Ground Effect craft).

June 1999 – December 2006:
CONSULTANT: COMMERCIAL ANALYSIS
Hypercraft Associates Ltd, England. Business start-up venture: A pioneering consultancy venture focused on the commercialisation of emerging high speed marine transport technologies – specifically Wing in Ground Effect.
- Consultant/agent for a sector-leading German WIG technology company, resulting in attracting investors and a deal for licensed production.
- Developed strategy & business plans for exploitation of new technology, including devising pricing methodologies and industry strategy through business and economic analysis/modelling (complex Excel spreadsheets).
- Marketing, press release campaigns, media relationships & external communication.
- Industry research using academic, journal, press & internet search, competitor information & market prices.
- Worked with technical specialists regarding product specifications, external resource requirements/suppliers,
- Presentations at executive level (including to defence sector organisations). Recognised as the leading commentator worldwide on the commercialisation of WIG emerging technology, with over a dozen professional papers published and presented at international conferences.
1998 – June 1999:
COMMERCIAL / TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Royal Institution of Naval Architects, England: Responsible for commercial activities of institution including international conferences, technical journal and technical paper publishing, accounting for 75% of Institution’s revenue and £1.5m turnover, management of 13 staff.
- Re-focussed, re-vitalised and project managed the commercial conference rolling programme of activities within a highly competitive market, and returned function to profitability by improvements to product design, positioning, marketing and sales.
1996 – 1998:
COMMERCIAL ANALYST/INTERNAL CONSULTANT: GROUP OPERATIONS
Oxford University Press, England: Re-engineering review of production sourcing and supply chain practices for the global organisation.
- Analysed £80m production procurement spend and production requirements.
- Found savings of £500,000 pa through rationalisation of production/logistics process.
