• Proven leader; granted authority to command and manage Coast Guard boat crew and boarding team members in every aspect of our mission, determining all final judgments and decisions.
• Appointed as department safety representative entailing monthly audits of coworkers and correcting any problems with training and counseling. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Coast Guard and OSHA regulations. Responsible for facilitating, conducting, overseeing and managing departments training schedule.
• Adapted to spontaneous variables, made important decisions generated by high stress situations, policies, procedures, and environments. Making effective decisions resulted in over 200 lives saved or assisted.
• Consistently adhered to military customs, courtesies, and protocol in all situations. Inspired similar standards in others.
• Ensured water side safety and security in Upper Galveston Bay and the Port of Houston area of responsibility.
• Ensured commercial and civil compliance with all applicable federal laws and regulations executed under 14USC89 (A) and numerous other United States Codes of Federal Regulations.
• Spent three months in the Bering Sea off the Alaskan coast at the Maritime Boundary Line (MBL) which separates the Russian and the United States’ Exclusive Economic Zones, in order to regulate fisherman in the industrious Alaskan king crab fishing season.
• Conducted counter narcotics patrol in Panama, Costa Rica and off the coast of Columbia, directly contributing to seizure of more than 1.5 tons of cocaine.
