Civil Engineer - Port Management and Development

Objective


To obtain a summer internship related to Port Management and Development where I can utilize my engineering education, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn.

Research Assistant, March 2009 – Present

Bowen Laboratory at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN)

- Assisted with extensive preparation for large scale civil engineering experiments

- Openly discussed with professors and graduate students about experimental hypotheses, system designs, and test results



Intern, May 2009 – August 2009

American Bureau of Shipping (Houston, TX)

- Analyzed reported employee hours and made suggestions on reorganizational structuring

- Created a New Engineer Orientation Program that all future engineers globally will complete as an introduction to company policies and procedures

- Worked with members in my department to ensure classification regulations were being enforced consistently in all ABS offices around the world



Intern, May 2008 – August 2008

C.A. Litzler Co, Inc. (Cleveland, OH)

- Assisted with purchasing. Contacted vendors and suppliers and requested quotes for a wide variety of materials including fabrications, electronics, motors, and sub-contracting.

- Created an inventory system using Excel for over 1000 stocked items. Researched product information and pricing for these items.
