NOAA Ship Pisces
Reported to Commander Pete Fischel. Myself and the Second Cook supported forty one officers, crew, and scientists, working in various sea conditions and handling multiple dietary needs and allergies. I helped bring the vessel to life from the shipyard to operational status, creating menus, procuring all the items needed for the operation and setting up the facility. Assisted in the redesign to the facility currently underway to bring the galley up to the required specifications for shipboard operations. This vessel was critical in the operation to monitor the Gulf OIL Disaster operations and is still conducting research for any impacts to the oceans environments

Reported to Master Dave Nelson. Myself and the Second Cook supported thirty two officers, crew, and scientists, working in various sea conditions and handling multiple dietary needs and allergies. Was able to maintain operations and acquire provisions on short port calls to change scientific crew members and receive essential items for the vessel.

Reported to Dietician Gale Loper. Supervised a kitchen staff of twenty three personnel. Supported a one hundred and twenty bed establishment handling the unique dietary needs of this assisted living facility.

Reported to the Executive Officer. Myself and the Second Cook supported thirty six officers, crew, and scientists, working in various sea conditions and handling multiple dietary needs and allergies. I was personally asked to oversee the vessel’s transit from Hawaii to San Diego, California for an essential renovation. I stepped in and was able to take over for the ailing Chief Steward with minimal interruption to the daily operation.

Myself and the Second Cook supported Thirty four officers, crew, and scientists, working in various sea conditions and handling multiple dietary needs and allergies. I flew out to assist the vessel after the emergency loss of the Chief Steward and was asked to take over the operation. This vessel was essential in monitoring the health and protection of our country’s reefs and sea life, in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and the East Coast.
