Chief Marine Engineer / Technical Superintendent / Barge Engineer

Objective


- To impart my skills and knowledge acquired on LPG & Oil-Chem Tankers as Chief Engineer for shore-based position as Technical Superintendent.

- To seek offshore employment, as my work experience in oil rig can be my solid foundation to explore again to drilling world as Barge Engineer.

2006–2008

Eitzen Maritime Services - Copenhagen, Denmark

Chief Engineer

- Company briefing & SMS in-house training in Mumbai – Mar 2006.

- Developed fuel calculations via excel, tailor-made for each vessel being assigned to.

- Last drydocking attended July-August 2008 – changed of class from BV to LR, CAP & NDT surveys, main & aux. engines general overhauled.

- Attended following inspections held since June 2008 – Flag State, BV & LR surveys, Pre-vetting, CDI, PSC & Various Oil Majors.



2003–2008

OSM Maritime Services - Bergen, Norway

Second Engineer to Chief Engineer

- Passed the board examination for Chief Marine Engineers – Jan 2004.

- Promoted from Second Engineer to Chief Engineer – Oct 2005.

- Taking-up advance courses in computers – XPAC PRO Applications Development for Non-Programmers (Database Programming – MS Access), Visual Basic 6.0 Programming & Personal Computer Building – 2004 & 2005.

- Attended computer-based PMS course BASS STAR IPS in Norwegian Training Center-Manila, Philippines – Feb 2004.

- Employed as 2nd Engineer one month after passing the board examination – Sept 1997.

- Taking-up Basic Electronics course in Norwegian Training Center-Manila, Philippines – June 1999.

- Attended specialized training on Oil Tankers, Chemical Tankers & Gas Tanker Operations – May to June 1999.

- Attended advance safety courses such as – MEFA, Advanced fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats, Shore-based Fire Fighting – April to May 1999.

- During drydocking in Frederikshvn, Denmark year 2000 able to experience replacement of main propulsion engine.

- Passed the board examination for 3rd Marine Engineers – 1993.

- Promoted to 2nd Asst. Engineer on the same ship – 1994.

- Taking-up Instrumentation & Automation course in Norwegian Training Center-Manila, Philippines – Nov 1994.

- Attended Gen. Tanker Familiarization Course & LPG/LNG Safety Course – November 1993.



1983–1993

Penrod Drilling Co., SEDCO FOREX

Roustabout – Roughneck – Derrickman – H2S Supervisor

- Worked as Roustabout after graduating in college – 1983. Five months later, have been picked up to work in the rig floor as Floorman and after a few months, I was trained to work as derrickman until I got the job on the same company until Oct. 1985.

- First opportunity to work abroad when Penrod Drilling operating in the Persian Gulf hired drilling crew – 1985 employed as Derrickman with residential base in Ras-Al-Khaimah, UAE.

- Became an H2S Supervisor, assisting the Safety Officer with maintaining safety equipments on the rig, monitoring the condition of the portable BA sets & fixed stations, keeping all the rig personnel aware of the dangers during the final phase of the drilling exploration & the ability to respond in emergency cases & identify evacuation signs & locations.

- Passed the board examination for 4th Marine Engineers – 1988.

- ROTC Advance Graduate, In-charge of Planning, Training & Operations of the Corps of Cadets.
