Objective
To serve as an engineer in a marine environment contributing to the growth and success of the company. Seeking new areas of challenge requiring research, education and application of knowledge.
Experience
PARTY LINE CRUISE CO./SWATH INTERNATIONAL; (2/96-Present) Title: Chief Engineer
PLCC and SWATH INTERNATIONAL are privately owned companies that function to design and operate SWATH fast ferry vessels. I have supported both companies in the re-design, development, testing and operation of a fast ferry craft. As a design representative for Swath International, I act to consult prospective vessel owners and shipyards with new construction. My knowledge and application of classification society rules and federal regulations as outlined in 33 and 46 CFR contributed significantly to the success of the CLOUDX vessel construction and certification. I developed a system identifying key vessel components that comply with the design drawing system and developed the component and parts management system that the company utilizes. The vessel CLOUDX was built to the newly adopted IMO “High Speed Code” and Lloyds Register rules. In support of those rules and regulations, I authored and administered most of the test procedures incorporated into the design and evaluation of the vessel during the commissioning phase. I supported the owner and management by establishing schedules and orchestrated the construction efforts with customized worklists. I oversee all engineering operations, monitor all maintenance and repair activities and support cost containment initiatives.
LOCKHEED MARTIN; (Title: Operations Engineer) (7/85-1/96) in Largo, Florida is a prime contractor for the Department of Energy. This division supplied the Nuclear Weapons Complex with supply parts, test equipment, and special materials from a highly technical workforce. Initially employed as an Electro-Mechanical Technician with an emphasis or Robotic installations and modifications, I progressed through numerous layers within the Company and my last position prior to my departure in 1996 was Operations Engineer in an Environmental Test Laboratory. This position as engineer directed the technical workforce to simulate environmental conditions such as random vibration, mechanical and thermal shock, acceleration, etc.. During my 10 years, I supported the company in positions of Management, Finance, Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering. With respect to management support, I was instrumental in creating several highly technical job positions, as well as conducting candidate interviews. I was recognized as the principal interviewer for all engineering and technical positions. I have maintained consistent outstanding performance appraisals and received numerous management awards. I maintained a government issued “Q” clearance throughout my employment.
MOBIL OIL EXPLORATION AND PRODUCING SERVICES (Title: Chief/Assistant Engineer) (1/80-7/85); a division of Mobil Corporation, is in the business of Oil and Gas Exploration. Mobil built the largest seismic research vessel in the world in 1981 and my assignment was to supervise and support construction in Japan. I supported the design plan at the shipyard and acted as liaison with the design team in New York (MOSAT) to insure construction specifications were met. I routinely altered design change and was instrumental in numerous engineering improvements. I was the first “marine” engineer employed in this capacity and was later instrumental in hiring subordinate engineers. I received international recognition from the company for the support effort offered during the construction phase. After delivery, I remained ocean-going with the vessel. The MOBIL SEARCH was an inspected vessel registered with the U.S.C.G. The ship is driven by four medium speed diesel engines capable of delivering 9600 HP to two controllable pitch propellers.

Skils
MECHANICAL Strong mechanical skills with wide array of experience with machinery, machine shop equipment, analytical instruments, refrigeration equipment, engines, turbines (steam-gas), pumps, reduction gears, monitoring equipment, sensors and control instrumentation. Metal working abilities include burning, welding and machining of most common metals and materials.
ELECTRICAL Excellent electrical skills in troubleshooting complex circuitry as well as basic AC/DC circuit problems. My electrical and electronic experience stems from working knowledge at an early age supporting a father who was both an electrical and mechanical engineer. I consider myself strong with systems integration as well as the repair and modification of existing designs. I have experience with electrical instruments such as bridge analyzers, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, decade boxes, calibration instruments, reflectometers, frequency analyzers, etc.
