Objective


Seeking part-time work if possible or if pay is reasonable full-time.If full-time would have to have benefits.


Experience


I am currently employed with Moran Towing of Texas,started working for them July 28,1998.I was hired on as an o/s, within 8 months trained in engine room and was relief Engineer for 3 years.While waiting for Engine room position I obtained an A/B Limited endorsement on MMD.In 2002 I recieved my position as Engineer and rode for last 6 years as Unlicensed Engineer As of December 14 2007,I recieved my Engineering License.I work on an offshore tugboat for Moran we mostly do ship docking,but occasionally we do offshore work like towing barges,deadships,etc.Before working for Moran Towing I worked for Associated Marine Services out of Groves Texas as a line handler from 1994 till 1998.While working there I moored ships on the Sabine Neches River docks,also worked on there deck barges loading storage and supplies to these ships,and worked on there crew boat bringing supplies to Supertankers and lay-up barges,etc. in the Gulf of Mexico.In between this time I worked for Gulf State Resources out of Victoria,I did seismograph work.In 1991 I worked for Drago Hardware until 1992.There I cut and threaded pipe,made pipe couplings ,cut glass and fiberglass,installed water heaters and heaters in customers homes stocked all of the shelves,etc.


Education


Lousiana Technical College: 44-hours of Able Seaman training March 27,2002,16-hours Lifeboatman(includes Lifeboat Compency)March 27,2002,4-hour Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities in compliance with 46 CFR 10.301-304 Febuary 22,2006,12-hour Personal Survival Techniques with 46 CFR 10.301-304 Febuary 22,2006,40-hours Combined Basic & Advanced Fire Fighting Febuary 10 2006,8-Hour Elementary First Aid/CPR in compliance with 46 CFR 10.301-304 Febuary 20,2006.On December 14,2007 recieved U.S. Merchant Marine Officer License,it states :Chief Engineer(Limited-Oceans)of Motor Vessels of any Horsepower.Designated Duty Engineer of Motor Vessels of any Horsepower.For Domestic Voyages only,the holder of this license meets the STCW 1995 Regulations without further Endorsement.

I've been this industry for well over 10 years and started my way from the bottom up learning from each and everybody I have work with.With this being said I know the mechanics of the Engine Room.I have worked mostly on EMD,Detroits,John Deere,Catapillar,Quincy Air Compressors,Faulk Reduction Gear,Rolls Royce Z-Drive,Schottel Z-Drive,Matthers Air controls,King air controls,Microphor MSD,Owens Kleen Tank MSD,Markey winches,Wax packing,Water seals bearings,Waukesha bearings,Keel coolers,Roots type blowers,Aftercoolers,Towing drums,etc.


 


I am seeking full-time work as long as it is equal time off.I am currently with Seafarers International Union so if not union would need benefits I have a wife an two kids.If part-time would have to work with current schedule.
