Chief Engineer

My present appointment is that of Chief Engineer Officer onboard  merchant vessels plying in coastal waters.The post is that of the Head of Department of Engineering. Responsible for the safety , maintenance,operation of on board fitted Mechanical, electrical, Hydraulic , Pneumatic machineries, their control systems and related procedures.Complying with the company policies and IMO regulations comcerning International safety management codes, of men and machineries.Drydocking of the vessel at regular intervals, liason with private and Govt agencies for the certification and work. Maintenance of PMS of the machineries and regular operation procedures. Also looking into the security of men and material, updating and upkeep of all documentations and log books.Advicing company of any Alteration and additions for the upkeep of the vessel.

I also was appointed as the technical officer of ITT shipping Pvt Ltd.Kilkata for a period of 2 years.Overseeing the operatioal requirement, maintenance of the company vessels.Also advicing other Officers of the vessels  for areas of concern regarding pollution, fuel savings and other factors for the optimum output .
