[Engineer with18 years of overall experience in the oil and gas industry, with 16 years as Chief Engineer on OSV,AHSV and Crew boats. As Chief I have worked on several different types of engines (EMD,Cat,MTU,Detroit,ALCO) and drive systems including diesel electric and jet drives.While on OSV's I was in charge of maintenance,preventive maintenance,ordering supplies and parts for engine room and pumping & receiving product to or from shore or rigg. As Chief on AHSV's I was in charge of maintenance,preventive maintenance,ordering supplies and parts for engine room and pumping & receiving product to or from shore or rigg as well as running the winch for Towing operations.
* In the time I have worked offshore I have found that a Chief Engineer has to be a Jack of all trades. I have worked on electrical,mechanical,piping,chipping,painting,welding and sewage systems as well as keeping up with the paperwork involved with the SMS,Engine room logs and oil record book.
